Projects

Affaric

Multiple projects have been carried out to carefully update this dwelling set within a graceful site to revive a much-loved property that required both aesthetic and functional intervention.

St. Clements Farm Grade 3 Listed Out-Building conversion - Pending Development

Feasibility and viability of converting a redundant, slightly dilapidated outbuilding into a 1-bed dwelling within the Farm - Site of Special Interest listing.   The design proposal - incorporate the essence of the surrounding farm buildings, yet retain the essential heritage of the structure and achieve a practical and functional dwelling with charm and character.

Building Control Approved Permit drawings

Le Moustier - Construct single storey rear extension

Create an extension to maximise habitable space yet 'include' the external environment without compromising the external space, thus remaining compact but still functional

La Rosaye - Historic Pre-Planning application advice

A quaint 1736 cottage, compact with an existing single store extension to the East.

Original brief was to convert the existing loft space - not viable as insufficient head room and usable functional floor area.

Other options were to partially raise the roof to create a 1 1/2 storey structure, or, create a new first floor full extension over the main cottage, and, demolish and replace the poorly constructed single storey extension to the East with another single story.

Therefore, to maximise the dwelling's potential of the existing footprint was to create a full length first floor extension with a new 1.1/2 storey East extension linked at each level to the main building, via a secondary staircase.  The existing style of the property was adhered to, to create an traditional farm style family home by extending the use of granite stone in keeping with the original granite finish of the 1736 cottage.
